I cried my
Tired eyes out
Enough to empty my soul
I feel so empty
Does anyone know
What it felt like
When their tears fell?

I clutched
My Aching chest
Afraid of my breaking heart
Beating for the lost lives
Does anyone know
What it felt like
When their hearts bled?

I crawled Into the corner
Afraid of the light
The darkness sheltered my body
Does anyone know
What it felt like
When their light died?

I wept Into my hands
Afraid to show my swollen eyes
To the rest of the world
Does anyone know
What it felt like
When they disappeared from our sight?

It was not me
That suffered and died that day
Amongst the crippling ruin
And falling sky
It was the best in this unfair world
And more than I will ever be
It was the end of innocence.
